It's easy to blame the refs, but this team is absolutely 100% taking more penalties than the rangers. Is the discrepancy legitimate? Maybe not. But it's not far off.

Stop with the dumb stuff first, then they can start talking about the refs.

Just watching the game on re-run now.

Delighted to see Kunitz getting into the game and Sid looks good.

Lapierre must be a total pain in the backside to play against and that's a really good thing for the Pens.

Great to be heading back to Pittsburgh with the series tied. :thumb:

I had to laugh when Pierre said that Max was giving play by play to the Rags bench during a pp. Im glad his game has arrived during the playoffs.

If anything we've outplayed the Rags so far this series

Empty Netters and a few posters here seem to have the mentality that the Pens squeaked out a win that they didn't deserve. I don't see that at all. They played a solid 60 min and the only negative is allowing 7 pp opportunities. Cut back on those and we win this series.
Were better than this team

I think this Pens team is one of the most dangerous 8 seeds in history

Im not saying we're going to win the Cup, but its not impossible by any stretch

I can't see this team surviving 4 rounds without Letang. It will take superhuman efforts from Crosby, Malking, and Fleury which you can't rule out, but it'll be tough. The most disappointing on-ice result of Tanger's injury is I think this team is a strong Cup contender with him in the lineup, without him the odds are significantly longer.

Also the video of Lapierre posted on the Pens site is great. He's in total troll mode and seems to bring a lot of good energy to the bench. I don't know if it has any sort of tangible impact but it's entertaining to watch.

This.

I still find it pretty probable that the Rangers win the next 3

I feel a lot better about the series now, but this stuff about the pens being the better team most of the series so far is a bit much. They played a good 35 or so minutes yesterday.

It was nice to see the Pens come out and take one. If they bring that level of effort, they may just have a chance.

However, I'm waiting to see if they can bring that on a game to game basis. Also, they simply cannot take so many penalties. It's only a matter of time until the Rangers make them pay. Yes, it's frustrating, but a lot of the calls they're getting are due to their own stupidity as well.

Chorney and Dumolin are both playing better than expected - so far. They're far from out of the woods, however. The lack of offensive support from the D is a major concern.

We'll see how the Rangers rebound now that they see that the Pens aren't going to roll over. They are capable of playing much better. If Lundqvist pulls it together, it's going to be very tough sledding.

I could still see the Rangers "waking up" and schooling the Pens in 3 straight, but I'm hoping the Pens will continue to put up a fight. As frustrating as this season has been, I'm not ready for it to be over.

Nice win. Played well for almost the whole game. Expectations are tempered because they haven't played like that since the California trip.

Saw the majority of the game without sound at a restaurant with the fam. One thing I thought was, wow the Pens look mean, like getting in the Rangers comfort zone and roughing it up. Hopefully they can keep doing that.

What Comeau did to Yandle is what the other team has been doing to our skill players for years. If the Rangers defense gets banged up they los their transition game which kills their stretch passing and then they won't generate any offense. I hope tonight we see Comeau, Winnik, Downie, Spaling and Lapierre continue to just lay into Yandle, Staal and McDonough after they move the puck.

How about Geno's save? His sweeping that puck off the doorstep saved the game.
