To be honest, these games have all been closer than I thought they would be. I was expecting a bunch of total butt-kickings.

Two 2-1 losses in the first three games is just brutal.

Me too. If you told me the Rangers after three games would be up one goal I'd have laughed. I don't know if we will win the series but this team has played some good hockey and better than they have in a while.

My buddy (who is a Caps fan) have been texting a lot. Some interesting similarities between our two respective series. Our goals for have matched the Caps in all three games (1-4-1). Same with wins and losses. The goals against have been the same as well in each game, except for the first game where the Isles scored four. WEIRD

Wilson didn't add anything and Bennett might have helped if he had a brief moment where he could do something.

I think he will continue to get the call because he plays a much safer game and is more responsible. He definitely does not have Bennet's ability, but Wilson plays a much more mature game.

Missed the end of the 2nd and all but five minutes of the 3rd. My friend who's a Rangers fan said all three games have had concentrated bursts of energy and inspired play by the Pens. I said that's because they ration the go-juice in their locker room, and he said "go-juice, meth, whatever it was, they were bananas the last ten minutes." I take comfort in that.

Both teams have an ineffective Russian superstar too...

Are we sure we aren't the same team?

Bennett does not have any ability. At least not anymore, either by injury, choice or dark providence.

Good stick tonight from him. I thought he was reasonably effective between the blue lines minus maybe one sequence. Good debut, that was his first full NHL game...

Hornqvist has exceeded all of my expectations this year. So much more effective than Neal, he's a beast on the forecheck and is a nightmare to opposing goalies. If only we had him the last couple years where we had a team a bit closer to Cup worthy.

Sid was awesome tonight. Unlucky with the post and great save by Hank, but he was creating chances every shift in the 3rd.

It's not his fault that he's playing 20+ minutes a night and he might be okay as a number 6, but Scuderi is a train wreck of a hockey player. It's like we're playing 4 on 5 when he's out there. You can't pass him the puck in the O zone and God forbid he completes a breakout pass. Most of our problems this series have stemmed from our inferior defensemen getting hemmed in our end and wasting 87/71's shifts running around the D zone. I can't help but to think how different this series would be if we had Letang back there

Today was the day I realized how bad scuderi is.

Overall it looks like we can only be competetive when the rangers slack off. The first 40 minutes of the game should be erased from history.

If you want something positive, I've been pretty damn impressed by Taylor Chorney so far. And I think Dumoulin has exceeded everyone's expectations.

It does seem like there are spurts of energy but most of the game was very ineffectual from the Pens. Yeah we carried a lot of play, but we didn't generate offense from it. When the Rangers try, they seem to have a little more oomph than us.

Scuderi, I love the guy, but he is so uncomfortable with the puck anywhere close to him. You see what a guy like Chorney is doing for turning the play up ice, and Scuds he just kills everything going up ice.

I'm very optimistic for the near future as far as the blue line goes. We need a few young forwards to step up and we need to dump some old guys.

I like what the Pens have shown in this series compared to the last weeks of the season. It's pretty clear that this team isn't the same without Letang, Maata, and Duper. Also doesn't help that Perron and Comeau are empty sweaters right now and the whole squad suffers from RTSS (refusal to shoot syndrome).

this actually feels like a playoff series. The past few years back and forth crap shoots with the flyers and isles just has a weird feel. Win or lose, we're back to playoff hockey, just so decimated on D.

I still think this ones going 7. Granted a win Wednesday is a must for that, but I have a good feeling.

1) Pens need to play a complete game, not just turn it on when they go down

2) Perron needs to shoot, same with some others

3) I'm not a ref basher, but these refs BLOW.

4) Win Game 4 and there is a legit chance to win.
