From Ryan Whitney:
I’m so sad that this looks like it’s Datsyuk’s last run before heading back to Russia. I’ll never forget playing against him in the ’08 finals with Pittsburgh. Going into the series, we had our matchups all planned out, and the coaches wanted the Rob Scuderi and Hal Gill pairing on Datsyuk at all times. I was on a pairing with Kris Letang at the time.

So a few shifts into Game 1, I’m on the ice and I see Datsyuk hop over the boards. All of a sudden, I hear our assistant coach Mike Yeo screaming — I’m talking screaming at the top of his lungs — “Whitney! Whitney! Get the **** off the ice! Get the **** off the ice!”

It was total panic.

Is there any chance we go 7D tonight if Maata can go, and Sestito sits?

Exhibit A in why I'm not a big line matcher. Messes with the bench, messes with flow. Sometimes it's necessary, but if I can avoid it, I avoid it.

From the Western Conference preview for the Sharks / Kings...
I mean, I remember when I went to the Rangers, I knew all the Penguins’ defensive calls when they would retrieve the puck behind the net. You think I kept that a secret? Heck no.

In Pittsburgh, the defenseman would say “wall” or “net” depending on what he was going to do with the puck.

On “wall,” the first defenseman would absorb the hit and dump the puck over to his partner. On “net,” they’d pass it behind the net to one another.

So I had my guys on the Rangers yelling out, “Net!” on the forecheck, confusing the Penguins’ defensemen.
These two previews have been awesome; I'm now pretty psyched to watch the other series.

Rob Rossi is such a flaming sack of ****. It's incredible he hasn't been terminated yet. Rutherford was and is right about him.

rc, you're OK, right?

Didn't look like it Monday. After slightly tilting your head while even more slightly shrugging your shoulders, I knew what you were about to do.

Tell a lie.

“I'm all right,” you said.

Let me tell you, Marc-Andre Fleury, “all right” isn't the way to play.

Don't play. Not yet. Wait until you're ready.

You don't seem like you are.
I suspect you've already decided that you're playing Wednesday. Allow me, then, to go back to our conversation from earlier this season.

It was the one with you and your dad. During it, you mentioned you'd been hit twice over a couple of games before your first concussion was diagnosed. I brought up my four concussions from high school through college and my trouble sleeping since.

You did then what you tried doing Monday: faked a smile.

The act betrayed you then, too.

If you're reading this, I want you to think about what we were discussing each time before the topic turned to our concussions.

Scarlett.

Estelle.

Veronique.

Those are a couple of lovely daughters your beautiful wife has given you.

Can't say for sure what will happen if you play Wednesday. Can only say you didn't seem like yourself Monday.

So I'll ask you again.

Marc, you're OK, right?

Why would he expect Fleury to be bouncing around talking about how ready he is to play when it's clear Sullivan wants to keep everything as close to the vest as possible? Weird that Fleury would be noncommittal when discussing his status.

What is even the point of that article? So he can "I told you so" if something bad happens? Mentioning his family by name seems a bit much.

No danger to his eyesight but does not know if he will be able to play.

Damn...looks like we lost after all...

Also, who the hell posts something like that for one game...

Kessel I thought had a good game. 7 or 8 out of 10. He was dialed in, he made some space for himself and even made a defensive play or two. He didn't get loose a whole lot certainly, but he kept the puck in tight spaces - in one instance, singlehandedly allowing a complete line change...ya know, actual possession...where as a shot directed towards the net would have resulted in calamity...

at this point, I think Rossi knows he's a heel and is engaging the fans as such. He knows people hate him and he's trying to make the most out of it because he knows people will read it and get pissed off at him for it. I have to applaud him for knowing his role, at least

but holy **** his writing style is an abomination
