Game used glass. Haven't seen that one before.
I've always wondered how real that stuff is. Does that used glass come with a certification of authenticity? Does anyone know?
Probably, but I'd have no issue believing the Pens charity organization. My Wendell August ornaments all came with a certificate stating that the metal used was from the Igloo.

I do know that they replace panels of glass nearly every year for one reason or another, so it's not uncommon at all.

Yea, I'm buying one, just always wondered about that. Like the "ice from the game." What's stopping them from just filling it up with tap water?

Let me preface this by saying that it's just a slow news day. That said, from this article by Friedman:
15. Low-key Matt Duchene possibility: Pittsburgh. The Penguins have circled around him before. Both Glen Sather and Phil Jackson (before he decided to ruin the Knicks) talked about adding new players to championship teams. You prevent a staleness, and if the newcomer is popular, the group rallies around them so they can win, too. Everyone’s frustrated: Colorado GM Joe Sakic, Duchene and agent Pat Brisson. Could Olli Maatta plus more pieces get the Penguins into this?

From what I remember the rumors before the deadline were Maatta + Sprong + Guentzel. No thanks on that if that's what it took.

My thoughts, as well. We'd be left incredibly thin on our blue line.

Guentzel and Sprong are like the last two you trade with a competent center core already. The Pens don't need a 1C or 2C, they need cheap winger options that produce.

No to moving Maatta without a suitable replacement...

We always inquired about Alex Galchenyuk but there's going to be a bidding war there that I doubt we'd win...

I haven't paid enough about his career so far but they are looking for centers and he was drafted as a center and they moved him to wing. Why not leave him at center, again there could be x and o issues I don't know about but seems silly to trade him.

FHCMT didn't like him at center and it seems like Claude Julien agrees. There is some rationale that he is better at LW, I can see that...all in all, Montreal probably damaged this player in terms of his handling and they're trying not to give him away...

There are those commercials for the Crystal Stanley Cups filled with melted finals ice. I thought that would be really cool until I saw the $80 price tag. Obviously as you stated without knowing then it's actual ice, it could just be $80 tap water.

In the first Pens Charity Bag, we got a good sized piece of game used glass from the Winter Classic, as well as water from the last game played at the Igloo. I have no doubts as to the authenticity given the source, and they make for a couple cool conversation/memorabilia pieces. The melted ice is definitely a little nasty looking.
