You must be mistaking me for someone else...even just reading my posts today, I caution against getting "stuck" with/on him...Yeah, but you have a giant man-crush on Sheary, if memory serves.
This was my assessment of Sheary awhile back. I also think I said something about him being a good fit if he can bring his game consistently...which he hasn't quite been able to do.Sheary has pop gun scoring ability. You don't notice him until he pots one. And if he doesn't score, you look at the scoresheet and say "well there went 16 minutes of...nothing exciting."
It's pretty non-committal...he's difficult to get a beat on because he walks that line...I watched him close in WBS...he's close for me as having that Gaudreau feel (not quite that upside certainly, but you know these little dynamic players and which ones work and which ones don't)...he's close, but I feel like he's just short...just a half beat short on explosiveness and dynamic-ness...we'll see, I wouldn't be surprised if he clicked up here either...but my gut tells me he's just a bit shy of doing work in the show...I'd love for him to be a gem though...
That's not how it works. If it goes to arbitration, the team wins, or he wins. He's a Pen either way. You don't get to say noIf Sheary gets $4m from arbitration I hope the team walks.

http://www.nhl.com/nhl/en/v3/ext/CBA201 ... 13_CBA.pdf(c) Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraphs (a) and (b) above, a Club may exercise the walk-away rights referred to therein not more than one (1) time in a League Year in which the Club has only one (1) salary arbitration award, one (1) time in a League Year in which the Club has two (2) salary arbitration awards, two (2) times in any League Year in which the Club has three (3) salary arbitration awards, two (2) times in any League Year in which the Club has four (4) salary arbitration awards, three (3) times in any League Year in which the Club has five (5) salary arbitration awards and so on. If a Club exercises its walk-away right with respect to a two-year award, the walk-away right shall be deemed to be exercised in the first year of the two-year SPC.

When the decision is announced, the team has the right to decline, or "walk away" from the award. If the team exercises this right, the player can declare himself an unrestricted free agent.
I realize that 3C is the most important position in all of hockey, but if you move Sheary who are the Pens top 6 LWs?Sheary at 4 million makes him expendable, maybe in a trade for that 3C. However Dumo is a must lock up, I'd prefer to see him get a 4 or 5 year deal at least.
Negative, captain. If it's above a certain AAV, teams have the right to walk...That's not how it works. If it goes to arbitration, the team wins, or he wins. He's a Pen either way. You don't get to say noIf Sheary gets $4m from arbitration I hope the team walks.
Why doesn't Hagelin count?I realize that 3C is the most important position in all of hockey, but if you move Sheary who are the Pens top 6 LWs?Sheary at 4 million makes him expendable, maybe in a trade for that 3C. Hagelin doesn't count...
