That's the only way they're going to dissuade people from repeating it.

If throwing dead animals is part of the culture and acceptable at their arena let them do it. If I was near him last night and he got fish guts on me while he tossing it I'd have socked him.

I think the optics on this are pretty clear. They're trying to send a message to other fans to not do this or else they'll make your life hell. The charges will likely be dropped once the series is over and everyone goes about their day.

He was wearing a radio station's t-shirt as he was being led out and then 30 minutes later, they tweeted he would be a guest on their show this morning regardless of the outcome of the game. Radio stunt hero should be charged to discourage that crap.

As noted, a reduction later would be ok.

The prices probably seemed relatively cheap to them.

It was over 200$ face value for 200 level seats as far as I could tell

I think like others have said, this is for keeping this from happening again. They don't want people smuggling dead fish into the arena. The charges will probably be dropped once the series is over.

I wondered why someone would spend that much money on a seat just to throw a fish and get tossed. The radio station probably bought him the ticket.

The charges will more than likely be reduced once the series is over. As others have mentioned, the charges are what they are to deter other idiots from doing it. And I doubt the police will be as kind to the next person who tries it.
