This is JR's first Botterill-less FA frenzy. Fingers crossed.

From Hockey's Future:
Talent Analysis

Hyman has above-average speed and is a smooth and shifty skater. He has good lateral quickness and excellent stability on his skates. Hyman has shown dramatic improvement in his defensive and physical play during his college career and plays a disciplined, hard hitting game in his own zone. He has become a quality possession player who takes a lot of defensive zone starts and converts them into up-ice pressure.
Future

Hyman skated in 16 games for the Maple Leafs in 2015-16 and was one of the top forwards for the AHL affiliate Marlies in his first pro season. He is expected to challenge for a roster spot with the Leafs in 2016-17. Hyman projects as a top-six forward with an offensive game and hockey awareness that exceeds most fifth-round draft picks.

That may be a tad generous. But a useful depth forward for sure.

That makes more sense. We don't need another RW.

Hunwick sounds like Daley-light.

Yes. A number of Pens fans on boards much lesser than this one (read: all of them) have been eyeing up Hunwick for awhile.

I'm sorry but this pisses me off, and the irrational fan in me now says thanks for the memories but you can seriously go...you know.

Tell me he turned down staying here in order to get an extra year?

Good for Bones. Not worth it for the Pens to try to match that.

Do other teams not understand why bottom line centers thrive in Pittsburgh?
