saw Poor Things. I enjoyed it and it’s definitely worth a watch but my god, why the **** do filmmakers these days love making movies that are too long? 2 hours would’ve been a perfect runtime for it but there was a kind of random plot thread at the end that drags on and adds almost nothing to the story. The pay off for it was eye roll-y

that said, still really smart, quite funny and very “weird”, but in an intriguing manner. I wanted to give it a 8.2ish but the interminable end of the film left a bad final taste so I give it a 7.7

We watched The Monkey King last night, daughter’s pick. It was awful.

Watched quiz lady last night on Hulu. Was expecting a terrible movie… it wasn’t that bad. It’s not winning any awards, but it was a good time.

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was outstanding. Nicolas Cage and Pedro Pascal absolutely killed it.
Watched this for the first time last night. Absolutely loved it. Outside of Barbie, probably the best new-ish movie I've seen in some time.

I view Pedro Pascal like I do Daniel Radcliffe now - everything he does now has been gold.

Any one see Leave the World Behind. My parents watched over the weekend. Said it was strange, just seeing the US attacked in cyberspace and how much that distrupts our world today. I may give it a shot.

I thought it was terribly written and a complete waste of time.

as someone that just finished mr robot i enjoyed leave the world behind but didn't think it was good.

saltburn was fairly entertaining but made stupid decisions - it could have been good.

i really liked may/december

Last night was my first exposure to a lot of less mainstream titles from the last year, and I have to say there were some bonkers-ass movies in 2023.

I didn't watch. Was Jo Koy as bad as the internet is saying he was?

He was awful, but....... I mean he apparently signed his contract 10 days ago, and only had 5 days to work with writers. lol

There's no real need for an on-camera host imo.

So apparently Danny Trejo is Hobbit height. I am shocked by this.

Everyone knows Tom Cruise is slightly taller than you. This is probably the first time I've ever seen Danny Trejo standing next to another person.

Is that a movie or TV show? It looks like they are remaking the first one (some of those shots looks identical) but I do like Fede as a director and will watch no matter what

PTA is doing Pynchons Vineland next. Leo has been cast. I'm sure he'll be Zoyd. I'm not really a big fan of Leo, but I am of the book. Really enjoyed PTAs take on inherent vice so looking forward to this.
