Lol no it didn't.
97" wide, my man. That's **** huge, and I don't even think that is the mirror to mirror width.

I'm with NTP on this and Randall on this. Some of them are so fcking tall that the roof my Elantra doesn't reach their mirrors.

I love these people trying to park in crowded parking lots. I seem to see a lot more massive F350 super cabs doing 30 point turns into parking spaces down here. And still crooked or taking up two spaces.

I don't mind big trucks. You do you. But my problem is the person driving that truck is often the same person that will try to park it in the third parking spot in at a busy Giant Eagle. They'll take forever doing it and be parked on at least one neighboring line. Happens in every parking lot in every moment.

Meanwhile, I'm parking my compact in the last row and taking the extra 15 seconds to get to the door.

Yeah, my general thought for cars and driving is “you do you, boo..” but when you start becoming dangerous to others or in this case inconveniencing them. Gtfo.

Not that I see it often, but I'd guess that 90% of the time I see somebody parking in two spaces, it's a huge truck. Once saw a Ram covering 4 spots at the mall.

You know what it is here: it's these fifth wheel drivers who don't drive those trucks very often. Then they get down here, drop the RV off, and get hopping around and aren't used to the size etc.

It's more than that, IMO. I get larger trucks for work, etc. But they've gotten so big that they're just nuisances now.

Exactly. Many people buy them for status and not for utility. Crew cab, short bed, tonnou cover over the bed. Always misparked or crossing the center line.

Source of the post tonnou cover over the bed
You know, I was going to mention my buddy who has a Colorado with a cover on it that I am 100% sure has never been opened. He won't even take his truck to the grocery store because he doesn't want it getting scratched, so he uses his wife's minivan.

This tweet from a few pages back is once again relevant.

Setting the price aside, the diffrence in size between the two trucks is massive. The new one is a crew cab and the old one isn't, but other than that I think they are both a "2500" medium-duty truck. Yet the new one absolutely dwarfs the 30-year-old version.

I for one am glad the vehicle on the right hauls the mini excavator to the job site versus the one on the left. Also if you're allowed to use the diesel pumps to get gas I'm allowed to park in the 3rd spot if I'm within the lines.

This is certainly an issue. They should be required to have CDLs for combinations >26,001 GVW

Within the lines being the key here.

Again, I found myself in down a wormhole with truck prices. A local Chevy dealership has one non-crewcab RWD Silverado 1500. It's the W/T trim level, which literally means work truck. Vinyl seats, rubber flooring, small tires. $38K. Like **** off. That truck was $18K ten years ago.

They actually sell Silverados with turbo 4 bangers, too, which should go in the gear grinding thread. I know the tourque is decent and the HP is probably similar to some of the V6s, but a full sized truck with a 4 cylinder?

I paid 20k for my 22 Hybrid Ford Maverick.. Hated it and sold it to Carvana for 25k. Never had a vehicle appreciate before, but I am not complaining. Got a 2024 Audi A3 and I love it

My hybrid Maverick makes an obnoxious beeping noise when backing up. Sounds like a submarine or something lol
How do you like the Mav? I will be looking at a small pickup in the next year or two and I've been considering the AWD option.
I love it. I always wanted a small pickup and it fills all my needs nicely. So nice to have the bed for yardwork/my hockey stuff. 38 MPGs is a nice little bonus too.

Only negative is that they are basically impossible to just buy from a dealer due to markups, so you will have to custom order and wait for them to build. If you have any other questions or anything shoot me a message

Yeah I could update that with all the problems I experienced in the last year. Something messed up with the battery harness and the truck was completely dead twice. A problem with breaking at low speeds. A mountain of recalls.. Finally just said eff it because I wanted something reliable

Lol, I wasn't planning on getting one anyways. Entertained it for a little, but I'd rather get something with good gas mileage instead. Eyeing up a Corolla Cross Hybrid for the good MPG/AWD combo.
