It's hard to complain about a movie where
a giant ape picks up a smaller ape and uses him as a bat to hit other apes.
If that's not cinema, I don't know what is.

Godzilla Minus One is up next. I'm expecting something completely different.

GxK is a perfect dumb and fun movie. Not sure why that's so hard to figure out, but dumb and serious movies need to stop happening.

Godzilla x Kong is available on VOD. Minus One is not. Both are available in other ways...

The Fall Guy was fun. Not as fun as apes fighting frost dinosaurs but fun nonetheless. Gosling is so damn likeable and he and Blunt have good chemistry. I wasn't expecting the romantic subplot to work as well as it did and that's mostly because those two are great together. The plot takes a while to get moving but once it gets going, it's a fun action mystery that's better written than expected. Solid stunts too, which makes sense I guess. Would watch again.

They had the director on the couch for Stuntmen React a couple weeks ago. Looked like a fun time.

My wife and I were talking about going to see that. We haven't seen a movie in a theater since she was pregnant (6.5 years ago)

It's already streaming if you just wanted to rent it instead. It pretty well flopped at the box office so I wonder if the move to streaming just 2 weeks after release was a panic move.

Hmmm...good call. I would prefer that, actually.

I just imagined my 4 foot, 55 pound child back in my wife's stomach and shuddered a bit.

That'll be fun. Predictable, probably stupid, but fun.

Both look much better than I would have guessed. I'd imagine I'll be disappointed in both, but we'll see!

I love the look he gives JGL when he mentions '94. Although I still have a soft spot for that one too

You weren't kidding. This isn't a "good monster movie." This is just a straight up good movie. The setting is really incredible and the concept of a shamed kamikaze pilot is so intriguing. Solid writing despite some turns being predictable, relatable characters with better than expected acting, great effects (obviously), monster doing monster ****, and an insanely good score. Sequel please.

argh. New Furiosa movie is 2.5 hours. Already going into it with a bad taste. Action movies should not be more than 2 hours
