Welp, I figured tonight would be the game we lost in this series, but a bummer with the way it happened.

Stop what you are doing and watch the Dock Ellis documentary on Netflix.

Unreal. Will make your eye's get dry.

Bucs Dugout is going through the recent Pirate drafts (not pretty):

Definitely took a couple of years for NH to learn how to draft effectively.

JHay starts to hit and everybody else goes to sleep.

When they wake up will the pitching slump?

Splitting this series is a pretty lousy result.

Is the Vance Worley experience finally going to the bullpen? Asking for a concerned fan...

I think he has one more start before Morton is ready.

I see that Jordy "supposedly good because he hits" Mercer is clocking in at .183.

I know its "early" but this team has .500 written all over it.

Cutch is coming around, JHay is showing signs of life, and the starting pitching has been very good.

But, Pedro has fallen off a cliff, many other bats are silent, defense is iffy, lots of Ks, too few walks, and not enough hitting with runners in scoring position.

Failing a "switch flip" I'd say .500 looks about right.

Agreed. I was willing to let them shake out of their typical early season mediocrity, but this just seems different than past seasons. Now we get to watch the Cubs turn into a contender while we turn back into a pumpkin. :face:

Jordy has turned into a pretty nice fielder too. No throwing errors since 2013 which is pretty ridiculous. Not saying he isn't hitting lousy but at least he's not totally worthless when he isn't hitting.

Jordy will be fine. The team will be fine. There are 127 games left ffs.

The Houston Astros are 22-13. You simply cant draw conclusions based on the first 40 or 50 games. Just hover around the .500 mark and dont dig yourself a hole and youll be fine.

Haven't they done this the past few years? Just sort of get by the first couple of months and then explode when summer hits? This isn't new.

wtf is up with the pirates and having so many errors from the 3b position??? Last year it was Pedro with throwing issues, this year Josh with fielding issues. I wonder how the Buccos stack up against the rest of the league in terms of errors from third base in the past couple years, or if there's an easy way to look that up.
