I feel like Euron is pretty limited, it's not like there's anyone that would trust him, so he can't really betray anyone. I'm not sure he can cause much damage, even if he wanted to. I think Baelish is the most dangerous character and can do the most damage to whatever the Starks try to do in the North.

I could certainly see the Mad Queen teaming up with him. Not like she has many options.

Of course the dubious nature of "build me a thousand ships" when there appears to be precious little tree life on Pike makes me wonder.

That is really the only way that Euron can really make an impact beyond delaying the inevitable, imo.

They wouldn't have bothered introducing him unless he was going to have some impact on things, imo.

This is also different than Dorne where I feel like they changed courses after the backlash from S5 (and deservedly so).

His importance could be to have pushed Theon and his sister to go to Danaraeys

The Greyjoy's strength is almost entirely in their naval fleet. I don't see them sustaining a ground offensive.

According to Entertainment Weekly, sources within HBO have confirmed what showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have said in the past—the last season of Game of Thrones will only be six episodes long. We have 13 more episodes of the show coming, and that’s it.

The wait between s7 and s8 is likely going to be insufferable. It may only be 6 episodes, but bet we'll be waiting extra long to get them, as we are this year for 7.

And Martin still probably won't have the Winds of Winter out by then.

I love that media outlets keep bringing this up like it's news. Benioff, Weiss and HBO all pretty much confirmed this about a year ago. They said had about 13 more hours of story left to tell, so the only debate was whether HBO would make it one season or two short seasons.

I sincerely hope not. The wait for this season was primarily due to the lack of snow for filming. My hope is next season will premier in July at the latest.

Guess I'm just expecting the worst in those regards. It's been hard enough to wait between previous seasons when we got 10 episodes... Now we're only getting 7 and then have to wait for 6 more. Gonna feel like an eternity most likely.

Just saw an article which claims that S7 sets the record for number of stuntmen simultaneously on fire, as well as total people burned.

Hold onto yer buts.

Episode 4 is apparently only 50 minutes but all of the other episodes are 59 minutes or higher.

Yay. I think that GoT is probably the shortest feeling show for me of any I've ever watched relative to actual time. The end credits are always a disappointment.

Yeah... it's crazy how fast the time typically flies by.

The only thing that sucks is that the finale is on the first night I'll be in OBX, so I'm gonna have to work out how to watch the damn thing.

Empire Magazine has apparently revealed Jon Snow's true name.
If this article is correct, it means Jon Snow’s real name is Jaehaerys Targaryen. This would confirm a fan theory that started circulating after Jon Snow’s parentage was revealed in season six, when Lyanna Stark whispered what’s believed to be Jon Snow’s true name to Ned Stark upon her death.

Jaehaerys I, also known as “the Old King,” was the longest reigning Targaryen monarch in Westerosi history, sitting on the throne for 55 years. He’s revered for his wisdom, compassion, and intelligence, including healing a violent divide between the monarchy and the Faith Militant— a group that, you might recall, resurged recently. As pointed out on Reddit, it would make sense for Lyanna Stark to name her son after the guy (if you go with the theory that she was in love with Rhaegar Targaryen, as opposed to a kidnapping victim). He’s not only Jon Snow’s great-grandfather, but he’s considered one of the most-beloved Targaryen rulers in history.

But it’s not just a cool name. There’s something much bigger going on here, and it’s linked to the prophecy about the Prince That Was Promised. Jaehaerys I is the king who first received the prophecy, with a witch telling him the prince would be born of his bloodline. It was that very prophecy that prompted Jaehaerys’ grandson Rhaegar to pursue Lyanna in the first place, in order to fulfill the prophecy.

Plus, Jaehaerys was a dragonrider. It’s believed the Jon Snow will help fulfill the “dragon has three heads” prophecy, along with Daenerys and Tyrion. If you needed any further hint that Jon Snow is destined to become one of those dragonriders, this is it.

Well, ****. Just saw an article that talked about some Spanish locations being reused for S8... However, the time frame for this appears to be March 2018...which means the show will definitely be starting later next season. No way they're filming in March and still starting even at the same time as this year.

Season 7 filmed until February 2017. These could be the last bit of filming they do. The report I read said their desired locations will begin to undergo refurbishment in March 2018, so maybe they need to get filming done before that point.

That makes sense. I heard the last season was going to revolve around a power play by the Sand Snakes to gain the Iron Throne.

Wow! I'm so impressed with how cinematic this show has become. What a long way since those obvious set pieces in the first season.
