Something something, ump with glasses.
If one were to put together a list of all-time worst umpires then Meals name would be on the short list.

If he could play the outfield. Otherwise he'd only be taking at bats from Walker, which doesn't help anything.

Hanson is ready but I don't think you bring him up until he can get regular ABs. And definitely not to be the backup SS too, he was moved from there and doesn't need the pressure of trying it again at the MLB level.

I'm thinking 4 GB is the ideal going into the all-star break. Anything better is gravy, and anything worse could make taking the division a near impossible task. Taking 3/4 from the Cards in the weekend series would be huge. Should have all of our top guns toeing the rubber, with the exception of Locke. But who's to say he isn't in the middle of a hot streak right now?

Besides, we owe those cheating redbirds from the last time we played them. Man was that ever a heartbreaking series. Time to pay them back.

The Cards series speaks to how awesome division rivalries in baseball are. Four straight days of baseball and hatred.

How about the Cardinals having back to back 4 game series on the road against the Cubs then Pirates?

Although it never hurts to see St. Louis lose, I'd rather they beat up on the Cubs and build that buffer zone between the pirates and cubs. Especially with the Harrison and Marte injuries this week, they'll have trouble scoring any runs this weekend against the Cardinals.

Are you talking about the regular season 5 gamer or the postseason 5 gamer? Because both were equally intense.

Just got offered a ticket to Sunday's game, but my family is coming over for dinner and we already had to cancel plans for a free concert that night due to said family event. How many days in the doghouse are seats to Sunday's game worth? Perhaps a gift for a free visit to the massage parlor would be an adequate bribe?

Just make sure to win at least 2 of 4. 2 is OK. 3 would be great. 1 is disastrous.

Bringing Liriano back in after an hour and 40 minute delay is probably the opposite of what I would have done.

I just the saw the video on deadspin of the crew trying to get the tarp on. That was so damned cool watching Pirates players (including McCutchen, Polanco) run onto the field to help pull the tarp down and bring it down the field. That was fun to watch.

Bunt a guy over for Lombardozzi and Polanco? I'd have taken my chances with Stewart.

So of course Polanco gets a triple. I'll take it.

I watched Melancon close it out on MLB last night and they had a number of shots of the hardy souls that stayed until the last dog was hung. Great game and nice to see Polanco get the game winning RBI. I hope this marks the start of a turn around for him.

Polanco has been extending his at bats during this series, taking the most pitches per at bat of anyone in the lineup. That can't hurt things.

Same. It was a little hairy at the end with the kids so late, but was fun and a good game.
