Since most here 34 years ago would have only been old enough for Governor Northam to approve of your mother murdering you, I'll try to imagine what's in your past just 15 or 20 years ago that might not be representative of who many of you are today.

I mean, for instance, maybe you too were a racist back then, but now - just like him - you're just a good, honest, stand up advocate of killing babies. So maybe give the guy a chance!

Steve King has had a lot more punitive measures taken against him than Northam.

Northams going to lose his job. That’s “worse” than losing committee assignments when you’re an open white supremacist (and Northam resigning is the correct result imo).

I would also point out we are roughly 30 hours into the Northam thing. Steve King was first sent to elective office in the 90s espousing the virtues of 'Western civilization'. This is not an apples-apples thing, as regards consequences. It's not even an apples-some other kind of fruit thing.

If at any point in the intervening 20 years, had the bag of turds that is Steve King faced rebuke for being a bag of turds by members of his own party, do you think Northam's entrenchment today would be a thing? I honestly have no idea what this guy is playing at - "let me refute these claims that I was photographed in blackface by recounting this other time I definitely did wear blackface while implying that I wore blackface at least one other time". He clearly has to go. But go back, say.......not even all the way back to when the first "I'm a bigoted shithead" flag was run up on King.... just say, five years ago. How many Republican leaders have ever said, "yeah, he's got to go".
