We've had about 4-5 days of on and off rain for the first time in recent memory. Very dry and hot summer...Just in time for 6-7" of rain from Joaquin Phoenix this weekend.

When it rains, it pours.

Glad northeastern Oklahoma isn't on that. We could go a year without rain with how much we got at the beginning of the summer.

Living 20 minutes from the ocean, I'm not going to lie about being relieved when these things head north.

Yup. Over the last 24 hours or so the European model was the only one to consistently put the storm OTS. Tough one to predict.

It's fixin' to rain here already. Based on the clouds, glad we're getting just one of the tails.

Looks like it's moving more east. That's good. But it still looks rather crappy on the east coast today. I'm supposed to drive back to DC tonight. Am I crazy or should I cancel?

Hurricane looks to be missing us completely on the East Coast. That said, the Nor'Easter that blew through yesterday and continues to a lesser degree is already causing some flooding along the shore.

Don't know where you're coming from but it's been a mess here all day. It's not pouring, but it's supposed to rain consistently into tomorrow morning plus there's high winds. It's drivable but would probably be stressful.

I think we're gonna wait for tomorrow morning. If it was just the wife and I we would go but we have the boy. Leaving Pittsburgh between 7-8 to drive through all that crap to DC seems like a bad idea.

I'm fine. Not much flooding where I live, but it is a mess in Columbia and in the Charleston area. Parts of I95 are shut down and several washed out bridges. And now more rain tonight and tomorrow...

It's like the massive rain decided to come into Charleston and go up I-26 to Columbia and stop. Charlotte area has a few down trees and associated loss of power but not biblical rain like some were predicting on Thursday.

The one good thing here is the lakes near us were really low, now it so much and they have been unless to collect all of the run off so there hasn't been too much flooding that I saw and we are still a few feet below target around here. Hope they keep the dams closed because down state really can't handle any more water.

The cutoff seemed to be north of Beaufort. It's been drizzling for 50 hours, but we never got anywhere near consistent rain.

Not necessarily a complain, just something interesting... the most powerful hurricane in recorded history is currently just off the pacific coast of Mexico. Set to make landfall soon. Apparently it is going to hit in a non-touristy part of Mexico, and with the mountains it's going to die rather quickly, but sustained winds of 200 mph. Gusts up to 250. That's crazy.
