I just received twenty-five meeting requests from a Project Manager for a single project. Not a series, but twenty-five single requests.
Do they not know how to Calendar?

The employee who trained me to back them up got the job that we applied for.

Sucks that I didn't get it, because the pay would've been better, but now her job (which is 90% what I currently do) is going to be open, and they really want to keep me around.

Hopefully will be permanent by October. Need to get health insurance before I turn 26.

No, no he does not. I'm tempted to send him a screenshot of the "Recurrence" button, but at the very least, this guy is very efficient on our calls, and we never actually wind up staying the full hour.

I have the opposite problem. I have a coworker (project manager) who doesn't know how to cancel a meeting that he set up to go on for eternity. Every Tuesday and Thursday, I get an email saying he cancelled the meeting. This has been going on for nearly 2 years.

We actually had that issue when my last boss left. Ended up ripping that out of Exchange from the back end, which was a pain in the ass.

I tried deleting the event from my calendar, still no luck. The email just says the PM still wants you to know that the meeting that's not on your calendar is cancelled.

Sounds like you have the exact same issue. Your e-mail administrators should be able to rip it out themselves.

Edit: This has worked for me in the past, but if you're not comfortable messing around with this, my suggestion would be to not attempt it.

I think as long as the creator still has the event on their calendar, it will respawn on the calendars of all the people that originally accepted the invite.

Have you tried contacting the PM directly and asking him to nix it because it is messing up your calendar?

It probably goes without saying, but having a phantom event on your Calendar is a real PITA for people who are trying to schedule time with you. If I'm trying to get half an hour with our marketing attorney to go over assets, and I see a half hour blocked out from 10-10:30, I'm not going to book that time slot. If that's actually a phantom event, **** you dude for not deleting the recurrances.

Didn't PensFaninDC quit his job right after he had a kid and had no way to support him?

It's a running joke all around the office at this point so even though it's a pain, it's still funny. Maybe we should take bets on when he'll finally wise up to it.

I have opened more IT help desk tickets since I started here in December than I have in probably all my other jobs combined. And it's often for the silliest stuff; for example, we are not permitted to install any software on our machines. All well and good..... but please make sure that a new hire's laptop HDD image includes basics like WinRAR or 7ZIP, and don't make me open a support ticket that is still open after six weeks.

There is no need for 7Zip if you've got WinRAR installed, pleb.

I am recruiting for an HR Coordinator position. I printed out four resumes and began calling through them. Left messages for the first two. The third rang a few times and then went to "We're sorry, this person's voicemail has not been set up yet. Good bye". That resume went straight into the trash can. I'm not sending you a follow up email if you are too dumb to have a voice mailbox when you are applying for jobs.

I don't disagree, but a lot of people don't realize when they have to set up a new voicemail box. My wife and I trade maybe a dozen text messages a day, but we've left each other perhaps five voicemails in the last calendar year. But I do agree that in this type of situation, get that ish sorted tout suite.
