That seems like an overreaction on your part and a very unprofessional thing on the browns part.

I'm rather impressed. 72 hours of draft discussion left wiiiide open since Thursday and I don't think MalkinsRottingHomeboysWeenieCarcus mentioned he was a Bronco fan even once.

Was wondering if hull would get drafted or not. He's a heart and soul guy. Not sure he has what it takes to play at the nfl level, but it's good to see he'll get a shot.

Note the lack of a B12 pick by the Stillers.

Kiper gave the Steelers an A- for their 2014 draft.

I've often wondered about this. Has anyone ever gone back through all of Kiper's assessment of draftees to see if he actually has a good track record of liking guys who turn into good NFL players? It seems like he's frequently wrong, but I'm not sure if it's just the really bad predictions that stick out. Is he significantly better than ordinary schmoes who obsessively do mock drafts on message boards?

Im pretty excited about randy gregory. Maybe there are other issues, but one issue with pot doesnt concern me much. They are apparently going to have a guy following him around like they did with bryant for a while. Hes going to be a beast. Him hardy and lawrence will be a pretty nice rotation once hardy gets into the lineup.

Kiper and McShay have proven to be equally inefficient judges of talent over the past five years. Neither expert’s rankings were a particularly good predictor of how a player would perform compared to the rest of his class. In fact, the average errors listed above suggest that the gurus’ rankings are off by around 35 spots when compared to the player’s actual performance. In other words, a player Kiper or McShay ranked as the 15th-best player in the draft is most likely to actually have been the 40th-best based on CAV to this point in their careers.

That one is nitpicking failures but is a funny read:

I'm not a huge fan of Kiper or McShay but it's hard to say "they're always wrong they suck" without having a better substitute to take their place.

Like, they may suck, but they still might be the best at what they do. A baseball player might be "wrong" 70% of the time but a .300 average is pretty good. It would only really be fair to co!pare them to their contemporaries

Part of the point is that there doesn't *need* to be wall to wall draft coverage that runs from the day after the SuperBowl all the way up to the HoF Game.

30% is considered success for you? College must've been a blast. Because the example you gave does apply to all facets of life and wasn't cherry picked and then shoehorned into this other situation even though it doesn't relate at all.

Somehow I feel if Kiper and McShay had strokes while patting themselves on the back ESPN would have zero trouble finding warm bodies to put in there. The Harvard link shows that they're inaccurate by 35 picks, more than a round. It's not that difficult.

I've got a 30 on a Thermodynamics test and it ended up as an A. Difficulty curves matter.

Of course they don't need draft coverage 100 days a year but we don't need to watch it. They show it that much because some crazy diehards love it and it makes ESPN (and the NFL) money.

Kiper and McShay might suck but they have these jobs for a reason (I'm guessing). Drafting is an inexact science and there is a lot of variables that can ruin a players career. Instead of complaining about Kiper and them I just ignore them

Sure, but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about Experts in a field that can't be quantified appointed by networks that don't care if they're right or wrong. It's educated guessing at best. I said Kiper's draft report card is meaningless. It's based on how he thinks they should have been taken, and the record shows where he thinks picks should be taken doesn't have any statistical value.

Congrats, the Steelers got an A- from Mel Kiper in 2015. He gave the Seahawks a C- in 2012. Forgive me for not being buoyed by his optimism.

It also reinforces how silly the bloggers as trusted talent evaluators idea is.

They have jobs because of the simpletons who like listening to talking heads and make it so the medium still exists.

So they certainly have some value even though they're useless in practice.
