I was thinking that I should check out a Yankees game, just for the freak show aspect of it.
Sure enough, they are on ESPN tonight against the Red Sox....because that NEVER happens. :slug:

Good God Buchholz. wtmf?

Is that the worst start to a game by a pitcher in MLB history? Red Sox history?

No, but there's this:

@BaseballEncyclo: Buchholz: 1st pitcher to give up 10 runs in #Yankees-#RedSox game since Boo Ferriss, 1945. #mlb

Allegedly the telecast had just finished showing a replay of an identical one he made also against darnaud last year. After the game they asked darnaud a out it and he said something a out it being the 7th or 8th hit simmons had take. Asway.

The Braves announcer was actually talking about that play during that at-bat and they showed the replay of it right before the pitch. It was so weird

Fun weekend in KC. A bit over the top, but fun nonetheless.
Lawrie's slide was bush league, Ventura was fine hitting him in retaliation and got tossed rightfully so. Today was kind of amateur hour on all parts. How they didn't start the game with warnings I'll never know (and that would have been the end of it).

But Melvin, who referred to the Brewers' seemingly perpetual state as "Milwaukee in the middle," acknowledged that rebuilding can be necessary at some point.
Milwaukee has done a lot of good things over the last decade to stay competitive. However, they haven't drafted well as of late, and they have traded a lot of good prospects (LoCain, Alcides Escobar, Michael Brantley) who could be helpful now. Braun signed a 5 year extension in 2011 to a deal that already ran through 2015. I think they'd like a mulligan on that extension. They don't have much in the system and there aren't many players on their major league roster they could flip to get a significant return.
