Who wants a BBS-wheels inspired watch? Only $3,000.

They did a Fuchs version last year, too:

That BBS watch is really growing on me, although I don't think it has grown enough for me to spend $3,000. The only thing I don't like is that the Union Glashütte logo appears to be on the crystal. I would have made it smaller and put it on the top of the dial.
Random trivia: the town of Glashütte is the German equivalent of the "Watch Valley" in Switzerland, and most of the major German watch companies (e.g., A. Lange & Söhne, Glashütte Original, NOMOS, Tutima, Union Glashütte, Moritz Grossmann) are located there.

I don't like how the date is displayed. I get why it looks like that but it makes it feel like an after thought.

I agree and think it might be better without a date. The whole impression is, IMO, quite dressy, notwithstanding the fact that it's based on a wheel design. Dates aren't necessarily needed on a dress watch.

"What if we made a pickup out of a Corolla?", said someone.

Still looks light years better than the Cybertruck.

Car started rattling in the rear end on my way home today. Thought for sure it was going to be a shock or strut issue, since they've never been replaced on the rear. Took off the wheel and saw that one of the caliper bolts was missing - easiest fix ever, lol. It must have rattled loose and fell out somewhere on 79.

Rattled loose? As somebody who has had their fair share of battles with those bolts, that sounds more like whoever last worked on it didn’t actually torque it down.

Possible. FIL and I did the pads a couple months ago. Might not have used enough ugga duggas.

Chevy shutting down the Malibu line later this year, to convert it to make the redesigned Bolt. With the Malibu gone, the Corvette is the last car manufactured by Chevrolet.

I thought they still made the Caprice for the police and the Impala.
Turns out they haven't made a
Caprice since 2017 and an
Impala since 2020.

So they are following Ford, which dropped all cars but the Mustang.
Toyota and Honda moved more than half a million Camrys, Civics, Accords, and Corollas in 2023, and that's not counting all of the other Elantras, Fortes, Altimas, etc. Seems like a not-so-smart idea to walk entirely away from those market segments.

I think it's clear, at least as far as the American market is concerned, that we're in an "arms" race of sorts for the manufacturers to keep making bigger and bigger vehicles because everyone else has something bigger.

Which is absurd. I passed a new Chevy pickup on Tuesday that was close to needing a second lane just to fit inside of.

Yea! Coolant exploding all over the engine compartment. Haven't determined the source yet, was able to limp it back into the driveway and borrow my father's car (I feel like 16 again).

Well, I suppose coolant exiting the engine in that fashion is better than exiting via the tailpipe. Or into the oil.

That happened to me at P&W BMW in Pittsburgh. We were test driving a BMW 650i and coming up Baum Blvd a coolant hose let loose and it came spraying up onto the windshield.

Yeah, I'm pulled up in front of the High School doors dropping off my middle child for an orchestra concert when it deposits all it's fluid in the crosswalk.
It took three attempts at "turn off engine, let fan run to cool, restart and limp a bit" to cover the mile back home. As irritating as it is, thank God it happened there and not halfway across town heading to a kids' sportsball game.
