The power window motor stopped working in my driver door and those are scarce. Dealer wants $400. I found a new OEM one online and it was $250. A bunch of used ones on eBay for $79. The shop thinks all it needs is new plastic gear which has warn out over the years. $8 on eBay.

Why is the picture of the note from inside the car?

Right after I posted it I thought the same.

Is it? It looks like they angled their phone on the windshield so you only see a small portion of it. Their other hand is holding up the note by a corner. You can see the paper is bent at the bottom

I'm a fan of the ivory. Followed by the orange.

For a Morgan, British Racing Green is the only way.
But get the black wheels.

Ha. I didn’t notice the two I like had the black wheels. Maybe they are what I like rather than the color itself.

There's also an option for matching the wheel color to the body color.

gf's inspection denied because the mirror turn signal doesn't work. Is this real? 80% of cars don't even have mirror signals. Seems dumb imo

Back in 1999 or so I had a car with a bad foglight, it failed inspection for being inoperable. I was told that if a car had a light installed it had to be functional. So I told them to remove the foglights (it was a problem with the circuit, not the bulb).
The inspection criteria can be found here:
https://www.dot.state.pa.us/public/dvsp ... PUB-45.pdf
Look at 175.80(a)(9)(i):
(9) Check the lamps and lenses and REJECT IF one or more of the following apply:
(i) An exterior bulb or sealed beam, if originally equipped or installed, fails to light properly, except
ornamental lights

Our MINI Cooper had an array of rear marker lights that the guys always managed to notice were burnt out. I had no idea they were even in there but they would always ding us for them.

Is there a bigger scam a dealership service center than cabin and engine air filter replacement? Honda does a multipoint inspection to run the service amount up and quoted me $180 to replace both filters. I just ordered them from Amazon for $25. They're not Honda filters, but still...
I wish I could do more work on my own cars tbh.

Clamps? My wife was having her CR-V serviced years ago and the tech noticed that one of the exhaust clamps had rusted off. I forget what they wanted to charge - maybe $125? - but I laughed at them and told them under no circumstance were they allowed to replace it, and that I would do it myself when she got home. They replaced it for free.

Also, I have been buying FRAM filters with activated carbon for years, and would recommend them.

The biggest thing I ever did was install a headlight upgrade kit to LED on my 09 Subie. Still so proud. Wifey still claims they are not bright enough. They are plenty bright. The lenses could use another cleaning, though.
Same vehicle has a cabin air filter that is behind the glove box and involves removing screws and stuff. Car gets driven mostly 5 miles to school and back, we'll live with dirty cabin air.

We ordered a Toyota RAV4 from a dealership on 9/16. Still hasn’t arrived in the states, even though we were told it would be here by now.
Crazy world we live in where you can’t just drive a car off the lot. Good thing my wife’s parents have been out of town for the past month so we’ve been able to borrow one of their cars.
