JB Weld is magic stuff, though.
:thumb:

I patched a hole on the Regal exhaust with JB High Heat and it's got me through two inspections. Have had a JB Water Weld patch on the bottom of the old chrome P-trap in the bathroom for years. My uncle even fixed a tooth with the stuff...

I had a oil leak in my car after a manual teaching gone wrong with my son but jb weld put a stop to it.

Still holding after seven years.

The live rock in my saltwater tank is all held together with Water Weld. Atrocious to work with (and that smell), but damn did it work well.

Heat in the Flex quit working reliably last week. Some Fords have a well known issue with the blend door actuator, didn't think much of it and scheduled an appointment. Checked the oil this morning and noticed- oh hey the coolant bottle's empty. That's not good. Thought it was strange because I have not smelled coolant at all, but evidence shows that it's left the premises somehow. Oil looks good, fortunately.

Pissed off about it but looking at the bright side, I noticed it before it was Found On Road Dead and the last major repair got me an extended warranty, so this could be worse.

Good deal. Usually coolant doesn't just evaporate haha.

I'm hoping it's a hose or something simple. Older Flexes have an issue with a water pump design that was improved before mine, but still hoping that's not it, even if it's under warranty it's a time consuming job.

Eff Mazda - Only offering $2K in assistance. So total of $6800 still owed. Never again will I buy this piece of **** brand.
So Mazda only offered 2K in assistance, and we asked the dealership if they could assist any, they're willing to knock off more, all told - it's going to coast us around $3K to fix. Down from $8900 totally. I'll count that as a win.

I'd probably take that deal. I know you are totally pissed at Mazda, but as the saying goes, "It's cheaper to keep 'er." Or the resale/trade-in value would be much higher with the new engine, if you want to get it fixed and then dump it in favor of something else.

Any sort of warranty offered on the work?

I'm always leery of major issues being fixed like, what caused it in the first place? A design flaw?

I guess that's my question, when our catalytic converters went on our Flex shortly after the 80k mile emissions warranty was up, Ford gave us a 3yr/36k extended warranty on top of what they covered. Can't hurt to ask.

The warranty has already helped and replaced the brakes when we had a stuck caliper and I assume it will pay for whatever's going on that caused the coolant jug to be empty.

What would cause my wife's brakes to make a grinding noise only when backing up? 25k miles. No stopping issues, no noise when braking moving forward.

Caliper is the first thing that comes to mind if it's a grinding noise and not a screech like the wear indicator hitting.

Could be something as simple as a rock stuck in the pad.

Bought the CX-50 today. Love it. Based on Morkle's experience maybe should have bought the extended warranty.

God they put the full court press on that thing.

Anyone familiar with Tuxmat car floor liners? We got a set for our telluride and from the very short use of them so far, I am very pleased. This is my first time trying out something other than the factory rugs that came with it

I honestly don't know anything about these floor liners, this was a gift and I'm pretty excited about how they look and fit. Time will tell when the cleaning part kicks in

I have weathertechs in all my vehicles. They're pretty easy to find used unless you have a brand new vehicle. They work well but are expensive if you buy them new. My dad has husky liners in his truck and they're actually a little nicer than weathertechs if you ask me. They are the same thing but have deeper ridges in the floor to hold mud and dirt in place instead of sliding around.

My custom fit Husky liners are 26 years old. They still look new.

I sold my spare TL-S seat over a week ago, but it's still sitting in my basement. The guy who bought it had a sick pet at home and was waiting to see a vet, and I haven't heard from him in like 4 days. Hope everything was okay and he just forgot.
