...HEAVY FREEZING SPRAY WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM
FRIDAY TO 4 PM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...For the Storm Warning, southwest winds 35 to 55 knots
with gusts up to 60 knots and waves 17 to 22 feet expected.
For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, heavy freezing spray at
a rate of 2 cm per hour or greater expected, and may rapidly
accumulate on vessels.

* WHERE...The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Vermilion OH to
Ripley NY, and the open waters of Lake Erie from Vermilion OH
to Buffalo NY.

* WHEN...For the Storm Warning, from 5 AM Friday to 10 AM EST
Saturday. For the Heavy Freezing Spray Warning, from 5 AM
Friday to 4 PM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Operating a vessel in heavy freezing spray is
hazardous. Freezing spray may render mechanical and electronic
components inoperative. Rapid ice accretion on decks and
superstructures may result in a catastrophic loss of
stability. Very strong winds will cause hazardous waves which
could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should prepare for dangerous accumulation of ice on
their vessel. If possible, remain in port, avoid the warning area
or conduct mitigation.

Mariners should remain in port, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

Geno the 12 year old senile dog that weighs 12lbs and pisses himself loves the snow and cold.

Murphy the 5 year old beagle/terrier mix hates the cold and snow...and went out and peed and pooped this morning as quick as I have ever seen him. He probably won't go out again today lol.

Our 9 year old cocker: “**** YES!!!!! I LOVE SNOW!!!!!!!” Runs around 1/2 hour, despite warnings from very well intentioned FB nebbies to OMG don’t let your pets freeze out there!!!!

Our 5 year old cocker: “****!!!!! I HATE SNOW!!!!!” Poops and pees by the door, comes straight back in.

They just upgraded the winter storm warning up here to a blizzard warning. Just a couple inches so far, but that wind is nasty.

The wind here is unnerving. I guess because we're in a new house and not used the sounds it makes when the wind speeds get up there?

Very gusty and sustained winds all day today, but the contractors are still putting up siding on the new homes behind us. I bet they'll work on Christmas. They've had crews 7 days a week working since September and worked Thanksgiving Day. It's crazy.
