You are feigning a response because of the letter R, while completely disregarding what the protestors are doing is illegal.

The USC thing has some more color to it. The 2024 class valedictorian is a Muslim lady and the university canceled her commencement address after receiving complaints that her IG bio linked to a charity that referred to Zionism as a "racist settler-colonial ideology” (which, I mean, isn't exactly an inaccurate characterization); the university cited vague 'security concerns' after receiving threats they said identified her specifically (which if she's the one being threatened...... who is issuing the threats, one wonders). Never mind that the US President typically delivers at least two commencement addresses (along with other high-profile speakers across this great land of ours) every single year and law enforcement is able to keep them and their student audiences safe, the university pulled the plug on her speech. When the university rightly had shenanigans called on them for being so lame, their response was not to acknowledge their error............. no, they cancelled the entire graduation commencement speaker program. So the "Crazy Rich Asians" guy and Billie Jean King got caught up in this. That'll show 'em.

So the SC stuff is a bit more of a unique situation. And as the spouse of a UCLA alum, I find it all hilariously sad.

Seems they were drilling down on what constitutes an official act of the president. They were disappointed that no prior court had tried to identify specific acts and rule in that manner. One Justice (Amy I believe) asked specifically about Trump meeting with a private attorney who was willing to spread misinformation about the election and did receive the answer of that not being an “official act.”

I would really like to have faith in our republic and fragile democracy we hold, however I don’t have that faith available. I’m also curious that if they rule Trump’s various actions were official acts then what stops Biden or any President from taking an official act to jail or assassinate their opponent due to any made up pretense they suggest? After all, at that point, it’s the President acting officially however erroneous the reasoning.

SCOTUS also expressed worry about their ruling opening up former presidents to be attack by opponents at will if said President’s actions aren’t considered official.

I see this being delayed, delayed, delayed, while they try to hone in on specific acts. To the point that this will not be finished by election time. Then, sadly, if Trump wins it won’t matter how the court rules or how any institution tries to hold him accountable. I truly believe if we end up with Trump in the White House again, the only thing that can stop him will be the military. If he gets their backing, I do believe this is how our current democracy will die.
