democrats thrive when selling hope. Stay in your wheelhouse, dems...
do you actually believe this
Obama made one hell of a run on it... It seems as though democrats that focus on making everyday things better draw better numbers. Republicans that focus on how terrible things are draw better numbers. But that's just how I see it. Perhaps you see it differently. And that's fine.

From the interview with HanA**HoleSolo: "One of my best friends is a homosexual and one of my best friends is Jewish and one of my best friends is Muslim."

Regarding the maker of that CNN gif...now, setting aside Trump retweeting it, it was a completely harmless, innocuous gif. It wasn't inciting violence, it was a meme featuring pro wrestling and crude photoshop techniques. CNN, however, has gotten to the bottom of it:
"After posting his apology, "HanAholeSolo" called CNN's KFile and confirmed his identity. In the interview, "HanAholeSolo" sounded nervous about his identity being revealed and asked to not be named out of fear for his personal safety and for the public embarrassment it would bring to him and his family.

CNN is not publishing "HanA**holeSolo's" name because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology, showed his remorse by saying he has taken down all his offending posts, and because he said he is not going to repeat this ugly behavior on social media again. In addition, he said his statement could serve as an example to others not to do the same.

CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.
"
Are they openly admitting to blackmailing him? "Ugly behavior"? FFS it was a WWE gif featuring the CNN logo on Vince McMahon's head. No one was calling for the murder of journalists. What he did doesn't even register on the radar of outrage or crossing the line. Trump tweeting it out was obviously cringeworthy, but that has nothing to do with the original creator.

CNN went out of their way to dig up personal details on this guy and is making an example out of him by telling him to stay silent, or else. That's....chilling
That reservation of rights is standard lawyer language, nothing more. It would frankly be weird if they didn't include that in the piece.
Huh? This isn't a lawyer letter. They are playing morality police. Leaving aside that the newsworthy-ness of this ding dong's name is nil, they are expressly saying that because he is being a good boy now, they won't publish his name. If, however, he is a bad boy again -- by applying CNN's moral, rather than journalistic standards -- they will publish his name. This has nothing to do with lawyers. Either find it newsworthy, or don't, but this is some goofball sht from CNN IMO.

Is your contention is that piece was not lawyered at all? Because I've never worked for an attorney that published or allowed to be published an official piece of communication where they've agreed to voluntarily waive an available course of action without saying that they are not shutting off the possibility of taking that course of action in the future.

Does it make CNN look gross? Yes. But, hey... lawyers. ;)

The decision here is not a legal one. You are mistaking the phrase CNN reserves the right for evidence that lawyers were involved here or lead decision maker. This is an editorial decision on whether to publish something on the basis that the subject of the news is behaving socially in a manner that CNN deems fit.

jfc... call a spade a spade. CNN's addition of that one line was not for any legal reasons. If they hadn't put that line in there and the dude went on another racist tirade and they then published his name, would there be a legal recourse? No.

I didn't say legal reasons, I said lawyer reasons. Believe it or not, that's not the same thing. And I'm aware of how incredibly pedantic that is.... which is kind of the point.

The Georgia Department of Community Health will audit its State Health Benefit Plan, anticipating up to $56 million in annual savings by removing ineligible enrollees from the program, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The state last audited the program — which offers government-subsidized coverage to teachers, state employees, retirees and their dependents — more than 10 years ago. That audit found nearly 16,000 ineligible enrollees were receiving benefits. Once the ineligible members were removed, the state saved an estimated $30 million each year.

The audit is part of several initiatives aimed at cutting anticipated shortfalls within the $3 billion program, the report states.

What is Russia's deal RE North Korea? It seems like China wants status quo (they don't want a failed state because of North Korean refugees and a unified Korea (or a larger South Korea). I'm guessing that Russia is on the same page as China, they don't want any additional US influence in the region.

Journalists acting like they are the most important people, deserving of special treatment, etc... and "servants of freedom" is getting pretty boring. Most of them are lazy stenographers. You aren't the only line of defense against fascism. Get over yourselves.

Last I checked the only people receiving actual violent reactions are GOP politicians.
