Wooo, we're back. Time to punch out of this thing and move it to the money fund I picked out last month (SWVXX). I thought about riding it until the end of the year but I don't think so.
You missed out on another 3% since...so uh, thanks?

True. I was in a hurry and the math didn't make sense to me either but I sent it anyway.

I'm happier where I am at. The money means a lot to me and I'm not happy to have it subjected to the whim of moron politicians and consumers. This is money I need in 9 months so I can't just ride it out when things go tits up in an election year.

I'm glad you're seeing the gains you want. Win-win.

Gains who said anything about gains lol

I'm up barely 1% since Nov 2021.

I'm up 4% since Nov 2021, and a little over 21% this year.

I think my TSP/401k is up 14%. That is the bulk of my investing.

The money I referred to earlier is my flight training money. Just need to park it somewhere until I start training in September. Just hoping to squeeze a few hundred extra out before then.

Our overall asset allocation is 90/10 equities/bonds right now. I have an annual reminder set for early January telling me to rebalance to my target, which I believe is 88/12, but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to snooze that for a while to see if I can make up more ground from 2021.

Let's get a hard crash today...even if it rallies later. I need a sharp red day...

Ok, 466 hit...now the bottom should (can...) fall out...

Or, ya know, stocks just go up forever despite all the indicators that suggest this is all a bunch of nonsense...

It has been a workhorse in our portfolio, that’s for sure. VINIX/VIIIX, too.

If the market stays where it is, this will wind up being one of the better years in a long time. Rate of return over 22%, and my balances are $310k higher than 'expected' (based on my own estimates). Just keep cutting time off that retirement target date.

Thanks, Biden.

Huh, Biden? What, are your gas prices reasonable too?

Not sure if you know this… but 99.9% of the time someone says “thanks Biden” on here, it’s a joke.

So you have a retirement target amount and not a date?

I'm planning to be able to retire at 57 but will likely hang around to 62 to pump the numbers up. So it's more of a time window for me. Unless one of my side hustles really takes off then I'm leaving at 57 with a deferred pension.

Is this meta? Clearly I know it's a joke and responded in kind - as we all know that he doesn't control gas prices either, as was a running joke here for a while...
