I think if individuals that were over the top were banned and not the heavy hand delete and ban everything, it would have gone over much better. Especially in nhr. That wasn't where new fans came to learn.

Aside from MiMH I can't think of any new regulars in NHR in months. No one seemed to have real issues with each other and considering the nature of the interwebs I think things were remarkably civil.

I can't remember specifics, but it definitely was just par for the PR course at the time. It definitely involved the usual suspects for that part of the forum.

Some folks took things way too personally. Other folks refused to let things go. A couple posters did both. There was no one singular thing that created the death spiral (though there was some name-calling & so on). Again, I think it was just the final nudge that sent everything downhill. There was very little respect in that part of the forum, IMO (as most of you guys had fled it, with good reason).

But it wasn't anything that necessitated martial law.
