A satire site agrees with you? Good feather for your cap. The Babylon Bee agrees with you politically too, so you win the web...?

With all due respect, a 2-1 playoff game is infinitely more entertaining than some 7-6 no defense no goaltending **** show. "The problem" is that teams play smarter and harder in the playoffs? At a pace they can maintain for a 7 game series but not 60 minutes on a Wednesday night in Winnipeg in game 47 of 82?

I don’t know how you can think NBA refs are better then NHL refs

these **** are literally reviewing every insignificant detail. I’m watching Celtics/Bucks but it’s taking 30 minutes to complete the last minute of play

It's also the smallest game, with the second least amount of "play action", second slowest play action, with the least players, for the least amount of time...

...and they still stink. That's why ulf has a residency in this thread until he finds a way to graduate.

I don't have any horse in the race, but NBA refs have the ability to alter games at a far greater pace than hockey refs do. I'd say there's probably weekly 1-2 blown calls that end up changing the outcome of the game, if you go by /r/basketball standards. They also flagrantly throw techs because someone used naughty language or someone looks at them the wrong way. NBA refs are charmin soft.

NBA refs bad calls involve na guy shooting 2 free throws in a game where 200+ points were scored. NHL refs have the ability to take a player off the ice for two minutes in a game where someone usually scores six times. I disagree with them being less powerful

Again, another basketball vs hockey thing and not NBA vs NHL thing. Is this all we got, refs are better, even if it were true?

I just don't care this much - the only thing I'll add is that refs impact the end of the game sequences in NBA far more than NHL refs do. That last 5 minutes, is usually blown call city that alters a tight game.

Do I think the NHL refs impact the game? Absolutely, and they do alter games, just not at the frequency I believe NBA refs do. This is my own eyes and reading, I watch 0% basketball games live.

That's about as much time as I'll spend on this. I just see the replays like 1-3 times a week it feels like.

I really can't even understand the idea that ulf is going for anymore...he's barely said anything but "nah uh", and the one point there about 2 points in a 200 point game doesn't take into account that you get two quick fouls and that guy is on the bench to prevent fouling out...or worse, he fouls him out late in the game (like that time LeBron failed out in overtime for no reason)...

I mean, also, are you high on drugs:

Teams take a bunch of fouls late to slow the game down. It's not because the refs suddenly decided they wanted to affect the outcome.

But this is something you would probably pick up if you watched live, so I do understand how it could look nefarious from an after-the-fact standpoint.

I brought it up because apparently you think my take of “NHL refs > NBA refs” is a “worst take on this board”

Nah the bad take was claiming they're the best of the major 4 leagues. Not specifically hockey vs nba. MLB umps are far and away #1 imo

And actually NFL are closer than I thought in second. NFL complaints I have are mostly due to dumb rules (again, league vs actual sport), and not them just making bad calls

Nah, I know how the game works. I used to play it and care about Pitt basketball at a time. The slow the game fouls are much different than a phantom hack or soft tech for eyeballing a ref.

This one happened like yesterday. Shoved in the back, gets called for the foul, then gets a tech for arguing lol. Young is quickly taken out of the game after that lol.

I think the ref called a foul for missing a bunny layup
