Ron Howard is taking over the Han Solo 'Star Wars' movie
After days of speculation, the Oscar-winning filmmaker Ron Howard has signed on to take over as director of Disney and Lucasfilm's untitled standalone Han Solo movie.

The movie's original directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller ("The Lego Movie"), were reportedly fired this week by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy over creative differences on the "Star Wars" film.

I physically bumped into Cameron Diaz at the 1998 Long Beach Grand Prix. (She was racing in the Pro-Celeb Race) The Mask had already come out, but TSAM was still a month or so away from release, so she wasn't super well-known at the time. I get the impression from her that she'd be a ton of fun to hang out with at a bar or party, but not much else.

That same day I had a brief 1-on-1 convo with Mario Andretti, and later that night Arnold Schwarzenegger asked me how I was doing as we passed each other on the sidewalk (they were between setups shooting End Of Days in my neighborhood, and he was walking to his trailer with his assistant). I had only lived in LA like six months at this point, and was technically unemployed. But I was like, "Does this happen all the time here? Cos if it does, that will be neat." It turns out that no, this does not happen all the time.

As kids are wont to do, my daughter has latched onto a movie and won't let go. This time, it's Trolls. I have to say, I'm normally not a fan of Dreamwork's stuff (Shrek excluded), but this isn't bad. The first couple of times anyway

This movie has made my sons into lunatics (not that they had far to go).

Looks awful. I don't know anything about it but the trailer looks like an over produced green screen try too hard fest.

Starry Eyes. I get the hollywood allegory. Pretty good ending; needed some more story, but ok.

10 Cloverfield Lane. Very good.

War for the Planet of the Apes sitting at 96% after 46 reviews. Getting the best reviews of the series. Pretty excited for this one.
