Remember when trump got booed at the baseball game and then went around the country looking for sporting events where he wouldn’t get booed.

Where does Elon end up having to go?
Same as Trump - NASCAR and WWE.
I think like that next weekend he went to a ufc fight in nyc and got booed again. Then started going to nascar and sec football games

There was a survey a while back that said WWE fans skew left though don’t tend to turn out to vote. This was also pre-Trump so who knows what it’d say now. I will say that pro wrestling falls more into nerd/comic/gaming culture these days than it’s southern rasslin roots where that stereotype comes from.

WWE fans tend to be on the left?

The owners certainly are not.
Fans yes. Wrestling fans in general too.

This is going to surprise you, but WWE is right up there with the NBA and WNBA for most left leaning fan base in sports (and sports entertainment).
Huh. TIL

Well, NYC is second only to San Francisco in cities Shyster would be proud to be booed in...

That makes sense. I stopped following the WWWF in 1977.

Chapelle brought Musk on stage and the crowd wasn’t happy about it. I’d post the tweet from the account who originally posted the video, but his account was banned…

Musk got booed in San Francisco. San Francisco. I would take getting booed in San Francisco as a badge of honor. If the people in the doucheiest, wokest, most blue-haired progressive city in the US don't like you, that means you're doing something right.
Hold on a minute. As far as I understand, only 10% participated in the boos. Are you suggesting that the entire city should be represented by a mere 10%?!?!

Yes, actually, I have. I found it to be a nice city with good food and a wonderful climate. A place that's basically "jacket weather" 365 days a year? Sign me up. Unfortunately, it's also full of San Franciscans and all of the miserable turds they elect into office. Plus, you know, the actual turds on the sidewalks.

"Discussing the consequences" doesn't mean they're going to do it. Take the following exchange:

Corporate executive: "Hey, why don't we do X?"
Corporate counsel: "That's a bad idea. X is arguably illegal, and if we do that, the state will likely come after us for wage-payment violations."
Corporate executive: "Yikes, well we certainly shouldn't do X, then."

That would be "discussing the consequences" of doing X. Left unsaid is that X was rejected.

Seems like it's an obviously bad idea. Strange that it was even brought up for discussion.

Business people come up with bad ideas all of the time. And some ideas might actually be pretty good, but they violate some law that the business people might not be aware of. For example, I was a health-law lawyer in my early career, and probably 2/3 of my time was spent: (1) explaining to doctors how some business idea that they had would be perfectly legal in pretty much any other industry would be illegal under either or both of the Stark anti-self-referral law or the Anti-Kickback Statute if any healthcare dollars were involved; and (2) trying (and often failing) to structure a deal that would comply with the statutory exceptions and safe harbors under those laws. Stuff like that is why companies have corporate counsel.

If Twitter does take the "Eff 'em. Make them sue us," route, it certainly wouldn't be the first time I've seen someone adopt that as a strategy. It's certainly not one that I would recommend to any client, however.

I didn't defend anything. I just pointed out what the article says and does not say. It says that something was discussed. It does not say that any decisions were reached as a result of those discussions. Talking about something and actually doing it are two different things.

If Twitter does renege on the promised severance packages, they would get their butts handed to them in court. Twitter offered those severance packages at least in part as a way to avoid WARN Act liability. If they renege, not only would they end up paying 60 days' of salary and benefits anyway, but the WARN Act also has civil penalties and attorneys’ fees. It would be pants-on-backward stupid to not pay those severance packages.

Dopey Elon demands his employees come to the offices where he stiffs his landlords.
