But seriously, you don't need to find out if the guy has insurance. You just need enough information to figure out their identity and what their regular routes of travel are. Basic information. What then happens next is in the hands of the gods (and any friends you have who are willing to tag along for the shenanigans).

Planned a scary movie night with the wife. Ran out to grab something to support the dinner being made. Ready to cross 1st avenue back to my apartment. Light turns. I step into the street and get hit by a motorbike going at least 25 or 30 through the light. Doofus calls me a "stupid ass n-" (which is a hell of a choice), and speeds off as blood pours from my face and head. Couple of nearby folks (including a delivery person that actually stopped at the light) help get me something to apply pressure to the wound and help me get back to my.apartment. Spent 8 hours in the ER. Got a couple layers of zippers in my head and face. I have about 10-15% range of motion in my left shoulder. Bruises and scrapes all over, but otherwise ok...not my favorite Halloween night. Gonna file a police report tonight, in the 1% likelihood that they can somehow identify the person. But it's not like they'll have insurance or anything...

As others mentioned, there was entirely too much jizz on the scene to render a clue that way.

I emphasize the motor part because it had a motor. He wasn't pedaling. That's the overwhelming majority of "bikes" in the city. Back in my day, you had to pedal. If this was a pedaled bike, this is probably just as bad for him as me.

Spend some time with whoever is doing the makeup for the ladies. They should be able to cover up most of those zippers enough to make you look somewhat presentable for pictures.

I spent a few days in Manhattan this summer (Chelsea to be specific). It took about 3 minutes of walking around when I realized that grubhub drivers on mopeds or scooters or whatever were a serious safety hazard, way more so than the roving bands of migrants my dad warned me about. Sorry you got busted up Michael
