Imo, the second he committed to ND he negatively impacted his career for good.I was just discussing this with my dad. I don't get how the former top ranked QB recruit in the country, Army All American, in his 6th year of college can't throw a god damn spiral.Jurkovec throws an ugly ball

This is such a Pitt game. Gonna cut it to six and give us a hope and do something dumb and make us wonder why we got excited

Jurkovec is aggressively bad. The offensive line is terrible. There's no replacement for Izzy and the guys we have are all the same, no change of pace like Mediocre Davis. Apparently there was no depth behind the defensive playmakers that left after last season. These guys are underwhelming and there's a lot of touted recruits doing nothing.

10/32. I've never seen a completion percentage that low. Against a bottom dweller big 12 team. Bad

Woof.Get bent Phil.
Maybe you should look at yourself, Phil. You're the reason they were booing.

Worst qb performance statistically since Kenny’s acc championship performance. But obviously there’s a big difference between a home game against Cincinnati and a rainy night vs a national champion featuring half a dozen nfl draft picks on defense10/32. I've never seen a completion percentage that low. Against a bottom dweller big 12 team. Bad
Luckily nard dog doesn’t have a long history of being a stubborn Italian meathead when it comes to qbs

He was literally just chucking up ugly balls. It was like me playing Madden down 20 points. Just call go routes and chuck it.

What’s his NIL number? Hate to say it but if you’re making money and put up horrific numbers, you’re boo-able.Get bent Phil.

Still trying to figure out what the hell I watched on Saturday night. This was their first real test and just about every potential "worst-case" scenario that could derail this season came to light.
QB would be better this year because Jurkovec can't possibly be worse than Slovis, right? No, he's worse. Yes there were contributing issues but Jurkovec is a sixth-year senior whose biggest selling point was the fact that this would be his third year in this offense, and he looked absolutely lost. L. O. S. T. Lost. I knew better than to expect Pickett or Marino from him, but I also didn't expect him to look like someone they pulled out of the stands an hour before the game. How in the hell was this guy a five-star, top 5 national QB in his recruiting class? His mechanics & instincts are a trainwreck. And his comments afterwards about the booing? Get f*cked.
Bub Means. All we heard during camp from Narduzzi, Underwood, folks covering camp practices, etc. was how Means looked like a much more polished receiver, how he was coming down with contested throws, making highlight-reel catches, blahbitty blah blah blah. I don't think I've ever seen a scholarship wideout with worse instincts at this level than Bub Means. Looks the part and all the speed in the world, but hands like feet and no ability to adjust to a ball in the air. The Pitt football version of Konstantin Koltsov.
Offensive line? Awful. Yes, Cincy has solid front seven, Corleone is going to be an NFL draft pick and Briggs is really good, but this isn't going to get easier for them. Kradel & Zubovic test the theory that "experienced" doesn't always mean "good". They were on ice skates the entire game. Goncalves and Taylor can't wait until midway through the season to start to get better like they did last year. BJ Williams gets a break here because he's a true freshman.
Frank Cignetti was an awful hire & he's done nothing to dispel this sentiment in 15 games. I wasn't the biggest Whipple fan, but at least Whipple knew how to identify the talent he had and scheme to use it. Gavin Bartholomew being on the sideline for the ENTIRE FINAL DRIVE is a fireable offense. Konata Mumpfield catches two touchdowns and all four targets thrown to him, yet there's either no apparent effort to continue to get him the ball. Either Cignetti can't figure out how to use him, or he's unable to get Jurkovec to find him on the field. And what the hell is going on with Hammond? 12 touches in two games?
Lots of thoughts on where this can go from here, but this has been long enough.

Amen Stoosh, and agree on all parts. I'd also add in the first half defense was poop.

the exact quote I told my brother - it's like they grabbed a guy and were like hey you're QB tonight, just try to find the open guy. PainfulI also didn't expect him to look like someone they pulled out of the stands an hour before the game.

I just hope they beat WVU.

During that last drive (after the Williams INT) I asked my buddy the rhetorical question “did these guys have a training camp? And a week of practice?”the exact quote I told my brother - it's like they grabbed a guy and were like hey you're QB tonight, just try to find the open guy. PainfulI also didn't expect him to look like someone they pulled out of the stands an hour before the game.

The bub means 11 targets 0 receptions stat was so bizarre. 11 targets clearly implied that Phil trusts bub. But the actual execution on the field implies those two guys never worked together before.

As far as cignetti goes, I’ll make my same complaint I always do:
Turn on any random college game and you’ll see guys running around wide open. It could be MACtion or the SEC or anything on between and guys are in open spots for easy to complete balls.
Yet you watch Pitt and it seems like no one is open, ever. That isn’t a talent issue, that’s a scheme issue. It can’t be that hard to get guys open
