Ugh. We're going to have one of these guys (or gals) die every week from here on out, aren't we?

it’s something I’ve been thinking about lately. “Pop culture”, at least how I view it, started to take off in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Most creative people are probably in their 20s when they really blow up (musicians, actors, athletes, etc) so they’re probably born in the 1930s/1940s, meaning they’re in their 90s/80s and unfortunately in prime dying time. Not only is it going to be every week but 10 years from now it’ll likely be several famous personas per weekUgh. We're going to have one of these guys (or gals) die every week from here on out, aren't we?
reminds me of this

the good news is 60-70 years from now a lot of tik tok famous people will be dying, so we got that going for us. Which is nice

It's particularly bad because many of these people are my parents' age(s).

yeah…
with my grandma passing recently, it’s been hard for me to get my kind of death. Particularly that now my grandparents have all passed, “next” in line (almost literally thinking of it like Final Destination) are my parents, aunts and uncles. Hopefully it’ll be some time until then but who knows. Thankfully my extended family has avoided any tragedies for a long time (my aunt died from a drunk driver in the 70s but that’s really it)
best we can do is spend time with each other and distract ourselves

also, it didn’t help at all but yesterday I watched the Adam Ruins Death episode of Adam Ruins Everything. It was very dark but in a poetic way. I’d recommend people watch it because it brings up some difficult but absolutely necessary things to think about like end of life decisions (such as if you’d want to stay on life support if brain dead, etc). Also also didn’t help that I took a gummy

He was probably the main reason why CSNY didn't get back together more. He and Young hated each other.Crosby could tell a good story, but he was always my least favorite, seemed like he had a bit of a god complex, pissed off a lot of people. His contribution to music was incredible though.
The 2020s are going to be brutal for classic (arbitrary definition of 60s to 80s) music/film lovers.

Of course MiMH watches Adam Ruins Everything.

I posted about it in the tv show thread. The humor is painfully corny but it’s addicting tv, at least for meOf course MiMH watches Adam Ruins Everything.
