The semi finals would have probably been different

The national championship would have been the same at least 6 or 8 times.

The rankings are subjective so I bet that a couple of those 1-2 appearances would change.

It's easy to let Alabama rest at #13 when that's not the cutoff, too.

That's a cool look at what may have been. Like KtK said, not sure it would've resulted in a different champion that often, but 51 different teams getting to participate over 10 years is pretty nifty.

The expected boost in automatic qualification spots so soon after the start of the five AQ spots in the 12-team playoff that starts this season is a nod to changing conference dynamics.

According to sources, the model that's earned the most discussion coming out of the CFP meeting in Dallas is one that would include three automatic qualifier spots for the Big Ten and SEC, two for the Big 12 and ACC and one for the Group of Five. That would leave three at-large spots in that 14-team model.

As for Notre Dame, sources told ESPN that the most likely option being discussed is that the Fighting Irish would earn a spot in the 14-team CFP if the selection committee ranks them in the top 14 on Selection Day.

Maybe just have like 60 bowl games so everyone gets to have a "post season".

If the top two or three teams are already in the playoff, no need for conference championship games.

I say expand it to 64 teams and run it every weekend in December. Think of the gambling revenue!

Deion's an interesting case study for the modern CFB landscape with NIL and open transfer portals running amok. He's objectively not a good coach, but he's a big personality that has juice with young players. Style over substance, but in this environment there's a lot of 'value' there. It could really be used to turn a program around almost immediately...if he hires good coaches around him.

Honest question, we know that he's not a good coach? It definitely seems plausible, but I don't know whether he is or isn't...

I mean, I feel like a cabal of hockey fans from this board could have coached that team into hanging on to that lead in the Stanford game.
