My post was more driven by the state of the other Pittsburgh franchises, but I am genuinely optimistic on the Pirates because of Endy. I am very bullish on the prospect of this team having an actual franchise Catcher, it doesn't even matter if Davis flops now. His ceiling basically just collapsed because there's no way he can retake the position defensively from Endy. So now it's just a matter of whether the bat from the right side improves to where it makes up for playing bad OF defense or DH. It's not like he didn't show flashes with the power, there definitely a likelihood that he is an impactful guy.
Pens are just unfortunately too old. I think if Crosby, Letang, and Malkin were on other teams playing complimentary roles, they'd be amazing, but it's past the point where they are the engines.
Steelers are a wildcard. Pickett has not taken a step forward this year. They can be a good bad team with him at the helm, but I feel like it's just guaranteed 9-8 seasons until Watt is done with this group.
