What is Kentucky doing? They had three timeouts and didn’t call one and they take another awful shot. That’s just bad coaching.

I had no idea Oakland is a public university with 20,000 students. I figured it for a 5,000 student Catholic school.

Been saying it all season -- Kentucky's defense and lack of hoops IQ was going to end them sooner than they want in March. Calipari has shown over and over that he can't coach talented players. In this case, he grossly mismanaged his lineup, stubbornly having DJ Wagner out there at all times while Reeves and Sheppard were coming off the bench. Add to it the fact he's a terrible in-game coach tactically, the ingredients were all there for this upset to happen. It's no wonder that he was a flop in the NBA too.

Evening musings:

--RIP all those who immediately had McNeese & Samford facing off in the 2nd round. I guess we see what happens to a team that played 2 top-100 teams all year and got their diet of 30 wins on an incredibly weak conference.
--The Kentucky stuff has already been parsed over but it's amazing to me that the SEC commissioner was banging the drum about doing a review of the tournament and 3 of his crown jewels go down on day 1. Maybe they should just stick to football.
--I could guard DJ Burns in the post. May not be able to see around him but I'd steal it from him.
--Did St. Peter's even get the commemorative bag tag for making it to the Dance?
--Pac-12 goes 4-0 on Day 1. Not bad for a defunct conference.
--The 11 has played the 14 in the 2nd round 6 times. The 11 has won outright every time.
