I do not need financial contribution at this time. Small victory - but I muscled Bluehost down from $682 to $310 (new member for VPS). I'll be doing this same dance next year.

That being said, the board will be wonky here the next few days (more than normal) as I attempt to upgrade to 3.3 PHPBB the most current. It will either work, or break everything and lose everything.

Going to 3.3 should allow us to add most common features where I feel comfortable. Avatars will be considered.

@Morkle, do you have the ability to create a backup of the database before making any changes? That would save the data in case the upgrade fails and crashes.

There might be a way for us to persist historical posts and then import them into the new system. I’m just not familiar with how the forum stores the data

looks like there's a native feature in phpbb to create a backup of the forum. I tried running it but it failed for some reason. But looks like we should be able to snapshot it and I'm assuming there's some way to import backups to other forums just in case
