Remade the chili with the instant pot. It's good but crock pot chili is still superior.

Sounds like you should host a chili showdown party...

Went to a house sale today and for some reason bought a virtually unused Ronco Showtime Rotisserie 6000TB for $20.

It’s old but it appears to work fine.

Now I gotta test the big *****. Anyone ever use one of these?

It’s got a brief timing guide on the side but no other paperwork.

SET IT AND FORGET IT!

I cooked a couple "triggering" meals this weekend. Started on Saturday with some nice pineapple and anchovy pizza. Delicious. Continued on Sunday when I made a big batch of the best kind of clam chowder: Manhattan clam chowder.

I’m in Chicago for the first time. I am sorely disappointed by the Chicago style pizza I’ve had. It all tastes like eating a wet phone book

New York pizza is the premier league and Chicago Style is an adult rec league

Italian beef over both deep dish and Chicago dogs.
Portillos is what my Chicago ppl have recommended.

Yeah, portillos is worth a stop too. I still say when in Rome regarding deep dish but yeah. It's okay to think its not the best type of pizza

Italian beef and Chicago dogs... don't need to add anything else to the list. Skip their pizza casserole.

Deep dish is (or at least can be) quite delicious. But don't f**kin' call it 'pizza' you basic f**ks.

If you guys want a really good frozen pizza, I absolutely recommend going on to Goldbelly and order Lou Malnati’s deep dish. For something quick, it’s awesome. It’s truly very good albeit sort of expensive (like 20 per pizza).

I always have some on hand when I don’t have time to make a real meal. They take like 35 minutes to cook but it worth it. Blows any other frozen pizza out of the water. Get the plain or pep though (the sausage is a little much imo)

We get Lou's twice a year from Taste Of Chicago, which in this case is more or less the same as Goldbelly. (Although the only one I've ever really liked enough to spend money on is the sausage lol)

Yea I think goldbelly just uses taste of Chicago

I’ve order Pequads, which supposedly is the best deep dishy style pizza, and it was garbage when frozen.

Going to the Chicago area next week for Thanksgiving. There's both a Lou Malnati’s and a Giordano's within two blocks of my hotel. It sounds like Lou Malnati’s would be the better choice between those two?

We had Giordano's in person (location near Millennium Park). It was way undercooked.

I'll only be in town for a couple days, and one of them is Thanksgiving day, so I pretty much only have one day for dinner.

I had both on my first (and only) trip to Chicago a few years back and Lou Malnatis was far superior to Giordanos.
