I agree with a lot of the ideas behind r/antiwork but this is.... woof.

Jessie Watters seems like the kind of person I immediately want to backhand.

Verbal lease agreement for a family friend's house for March-June. 10 minute walk from the beach, 25 minute drive to work. It's getting closer...

If you were to ask me to imagine a moderator of a large subreddit, that person would immediately come up in my mind.

Apparently a large number of people on the sub are pissed because she went on Fox, and essentially torpedoed what the true meaning actually is.

She was unprepared, she looked unkempt, her camera was terrible, she didn't make eye contact, and above all else she seemingly has zero idea what the sub is actually about.

It seems MR25 and nocera were just as confused as we were, blackjack.

As I understand it, Doreen identifies as female. Also, r/antiwork just went private. Yikes.

Tomorrow there will be a new sub called r/realantiwork. Such is the way of reddit.
Job and General Employment Thread
It's probably the most toxic sub I belong to. But I can't look away.

r/antiwork has a purpose. There are alot of **** employers out there who treat their employees like ****. I honestly think at least 50% of the text message or other convo's that were posted on there were made up though.

/r/antiwork is nothing but mostly fanfic about how they're costing the company they work for millions, or how they're the most critical person to their job. It got boring reading the same stuff over and over and over and over again. We get it, you're the main character.

Yeah, hard to figure out what's real or not. If some of those horror stories are real, and people escape those **** companies, I'm all for that.
NAN's head would explode reading that sub, listening to people who don't want work to consume their every fiber.

The way I go into it, is probably one out of every 20 stories isn't embellished to the point where it's real. I believe the anecdotes people have when they comment their experiences, but these long-winded diatribes and they always end up with glorious clappings or being carried out by their fellow employees is just cringe more than anything.
Job and General Employment Thread
My favorite thread on there comes up about once a week. "What happens to these people that are quitting their jobs?" The replies are usually a mix between true believers and cynics. Everything from Mom's Basement to 'they moved on to other better jobs.'

Honestly, Watters handled that as professionally as he could. He knew he didn't need to say much

Meaning that Watters intentionally brought on a dog walker, reddit mod because he knew it would make whatever point for him?

Watters is a ****** but he didn’t have to do much here to make her and the movement look like a joke. Watters just let her talk.

I'll have to check out that subreddit when it comes back.

Looks like r/antiwork is still private but r/workreform is now booming. Much better name anyway. Imagine killing your gigantic subreddit and being replaced by another one in less than 24 hours.
