I convinced most of the people in my company to pick Duquesne, and then I didn't thinking they'd lose.
Keep it rolling!

Dear South Carolina:
Just embrace the cocks. Nobody thinks you are Carolina, and even fewer think you are USC.
Thanks,
Ronald M. Franchise

Early window musings:
--SEC off to a real strong start. Sankey can suck it. Probably could have left out a couple of his teams too.
--A bit of a dull window other than the Duquesne upset. Not every session can be a banger.
--Impressed with how Oregon has kept their run going. They were so up-and-down throughout the regular season and a lot of that had to do with injuries. Now that they're healthy, perhaps they've got a run in them. Next game will pit Altman against the school he spent 16 years with before going to Eugene.
--Not so impressed with Creighton. Yes, they had a pretty good 8-minute stretch at the start of the 2nd half to pull away from Akron but they got complacent and spent 6 minutes putting up 2 points. Had Akron been able to find a shooting touch, they'd have had the Jays backpedaling.
On to the evening and maybe we get some good ones. Buckle up for Gonzaga-McNeese.

Very impressive choke by Nevada. What's the fastest way to yak a big lead? Play clockball with 8:00 left and hope the time runs out. Bob Knight is spinning in his grave at that lack of coaching acumen by Alford.

Looking forward to the Creighton /Oregon battle of bigs on Saturday. Thought Kalkbrenner could have had a better day today. Dante looked like the real deal for the Ducks.

Only a matter of time before Oakland turns into a pumpkin. Surely.
Also 11 first half points for Colorado State? What did they catch UVa scoring virus in Dayton?

That has all the makings for a Calipari meltdown -- a guy for Oakland who can just drill 3's and a defense in Kentucky who isn't bright enough to figure it out. Plus, Oakland's throwing a zone at them and I don't expect Calipari to understand how to scheme against it.

There were so many people picking McNeese to run past Gonzaga that I just assumed it would be a ten point victory for the Zags

Apart from the upset, I mostly hope Oakland wins because if UK is out, ticket prices will plummet for Saturday and I promised littlest Franchise we were going.

Oakland's propensity for clanking free throws is what will be their undoing.
