God damn I think these are way funnier than they probably actually are

There real L goes to the college for asking him to speak in the first place.

I had to look it up...
4 years, $212MM with $170MM guaranteed. Second highest paid player behind Joe Burrow.
I mean, I think he's a good fit in Detroit and has been really good there the last 2 years...and really good QBs are hard to find. The $170MM guaranteed is kinda bananas, though, although I guess that's the cost of doing business these days.

Oh wait he says other dumb stuff too.
He also made sure to let people know that he's not about that Pride month.“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you. Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.
“I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother. I’m on this stage today, able to be the man that I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation.
“I’m beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker.”
“Not the deadly sins sort of Pride that has an entire month dedicated to it, “but the true God-centered pride that is cooperating with the holy ghost to glorify him.”
**** this guy.“The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion”

As with pretty much every kicker in the league, I know nothing about this man. Off to the wiki...
Oh boy...He is a devout Catholic. Butker has publicly spoken out against Traditionis custodes, saying that he felt that he and other tradition-oriented Catholics were "persecuted" in the Church.
Sounds about right. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Regina Caeli Academy, an accredited PK-12 Classical homeschool hybrid academy, located in cities across the United States and the United Kingdom.
Mmmhm.Butker supported the 2022 Kansas Value Them Both Amendment, which would have overridden a 2019 Kansas Supreme Court ruling that the Kansas constitution guarantees a right to abortion.
I'm sure he's one of those "STOP SHOVING YOUR GAYNESS DOWN OUR THROATS!" kind of guys.In 2023, Butker wore a pro-life tie while attending the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVII victory celebration at the White House in protest of Joe Biden's pro-choice views.

Endless social media culture wars are tiresome.

Something tells me the college was all for his remarks.
https://www.outsports.com/2014/10/13/69 ... e-college/Benedictine College has forced openly gay basketball player Jallen Messersmith to remove a rainbow flag he had hung in the window of his dorm room. Messersmith said the school told him the request came after one student said they felt uncomfortable.

2014 was a decade ago. The public, in general, has come a LONG way in just ten years about being openly gay.
Not saying it wasn't wrong, but for an openly gay basketball player at a catholic university in Kansas in 2014? I'm sure some students did feel uncomfortable.

If a dude is talking about "emasculation", I reserve the right to mock him

Can you believe that total loser saying things that probably 100+ million people in this country would agree with? What a sack of crap.
And isn't it outrageous that a Catholic college invited a Catholic person to give a speech that basically expressed mainstream Catholic beliefs? Buncha losers.
