Do you think it's a coincidence Sid drops off every time Dupers is hurt?

It's because we have no depth. When Dupuis and his 3.75M get hurt we have Beau Bennett to put in the top 6. I'd much rather have that 3.75M to spend on a younger more durable player.

Kunitz drops off too. I understand all of the GM level thinking about salary slots, but if Dupuis is healthy he makes the 1st line go. If the argument is about having to rely on him now after two seasons of health issues - I can see that point.

We should try and find suitable players as top six guys, but honestly I think he is a better bet right now than Kunitz and Bennett as top six players next year. He was playing well before the clot happened. Kunitz and Bennett were terrible.

I agree, snapshot. Based on how he looked this past year, I can see Duper starting with Sid. If he's lost a step during his time off, no problem, just move him to the third line, where he can still be effective. Kunitz, on the other hand, shouldn't be seeing any more than third line minutes from the get go. Kunitz was like this last year, and I don't foresee any improvement:
