He played 160 games across eight possible seasons for NHL orgs...the high watermark was 41 games with Winnipeg in 2019. Then bolted from the Devils AHL club the next year for the KHL (Belarus). Then Finland. Back to the KHL (Kazakhstan). KHL (Russia), then moved to Switzerland at the end of the year. And now, as G mentioned, he's in the pathetic English league...

So, no, he didn't pan out...

TIL he hasn't been in the NHL since 2019. I thought he would be on somebody's team as a 6th or 7th defenseman.

Since his last appearance in the NHL, he has played with Bingo (AHL), Minsk (KHL), Ässät (Liiga), Barys Nur-Sultan (KHL), Sochi (KHL), Davos (Swiss), and Manchester (EIHL)

I just remember a lot of uproar over losing Morrow for Morrow. I know we didn't have many firsts over the last 15 years but it also seems they missed a lot more than they hit.

was morrow the one that climbed over the boards for a shift and didn’t have his chin strap snapped? I remember being outraged and wishing him traded by the time he ended that shift

First Potential Outcome: Pittsburgh has a 1.5% chance to win the draft lottery shift, and its current pick (14th overall) will move into the top 10 and become the fourth overall pick. If the Penguins secure the fourth overall pick, they will have the option to keep it and instead give San Jose their 2025 first-round pick.

Second Potential Outcome: If the Penguins do not win the draft lottery (there is a 98.5% chance of this scenario), the Sharks will automatically have Pittsburgh's 2024 first-round draft pick.

I say we ask Uncle Gary if we can wait for a better draft class before he lets us win the lottery again.

If we get 4th overall, I guess I'd keep it to see what kind of trade value it had...

2013 is probably my worst disappointment during my years of rooting for Pens.
Shero did some great moves (in theory) and we had a great team. I still believe that an average NHL coach would have won the cup with that team.

OK. Second worst disappointment. Crosby's injury after the Steckel elbow is my worst

Yeah, the Stevens faceplant is the bottoming out of my fandom for me. They weren't back on track, really, until Moose Hedberg and not really until Sid and Geno joined the team.

I keep on seeing “teams that should trade for Mitch Marner” articles popping up and the Penguins are often one of those teams listed

No clue if I would even be interested, or if it could work cap wise, and what would it take asset wise, but it’s interesting to think about

Marner for Karlsson sort of satisfies a need for both teams. I don't think that gets it done. But Marner is on an expiring deal and he has a NMC. So, he gets to control the market. But if that's the foundation, I'd listen.

I'm sure Vegas will find a way to fit him in.
