I hate this line of thinking. A lot of people are only 24. Only a select few are good at baseball. Pretty sure Bryssse is notWilson is still only 24..

he dominated AAA in a small time there. He's pretty good at baseball. I don't think he should be counted on next year. I'd like him as a 6th or 7th option. But it's interesting to see keller stunk until he's 26. At least keller had the fastball to give him a bigger leash. I think age isn't taken into account enough actually.

The downside risk from Cruz seems to have been mitigated. There was the potential for the bottom falling out from under him (defense at SS didn't play and the contact issues were bad to the point where the power wouldn't play). But right now, he can both play short and hit for power, so even if he doesn't fix the sub .300 OBP and the high K rate, he's still a productive player. So essentially the downside risk is gone, so now it's just a question of how much better he gets.
As for the rotation, it probably makes sense to stash Ortiz in the minors to try and keep both Thompson and Wilson as the 5th starter/swingman combo. But, those guys have to be a on a very short leash next spring.

I'd rather just sign somebody real. Ortiz needs to go to AAA and get a 3rd pitch

2023 FA list is very weak.

Brandon belt has two world series rings. I think he has too much self respect to play out the Twilight of his career in front of 8000 pirate fans

If I live for another 100 years I would have zero expectations of the Pirates ever winning the division again.

The feeling that came over me as I started walking across the clemente bridge into a sea of black at like 430pm that day is something I'll never forget. I was moved almost to tears.
